Why So Plaid?
Born to kilt.
Katy Ansite is the founder of St Maggie. Born and raised in Los Angeles, she comes from a family of kiltmakers with deep roots in Scotland. Having grown up surrounded by a sea of plaid in the family kilt shop, Katy knows her way around tartans and tweeds. Marrying her formal Scottish heritage with her casual California roots, she started St Maggie. Say hello at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Saint Maggie combines the rich history of Scotland with a modern, playful sensibility. In a similar way, our clothing incorporates the great traditional Scottish tartans and heritage textiles with clean design and contemporary silhouettes.
Meet St Maggie.
We named our line after one of our favorites in Scottish history: St Margaret, Queen of Scotland. Margaret ruled as Queen of Scotland during the 11th century and was sainted in the 12th. While the finer details of her life have been lost to history, she was a fiercely intelligent woman—an outsider, actually—who greatly influenced the style and thinking of a rugged land. Imagine Mel Gibson's "Braveheart", only this time with a fearless, smokin' hot chick as a lead, not just love interest. Yeah.
